KFor the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle, the Duchess of Cambridge ate Middelton chose a regal frock by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. This is the second time Middleton has selected the label for a royal wedding this year—she wore a cream coat and dress for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in May. Today’s look, however, is a bit of a departure from her minimalistic approach last spring; today, Middleton stood out in a rich shade of raspberry.
While the color is a refreshing change of pace, the demi leg-of-mutton shoulder dress fell in line with the Duchess’ previous royal style. The body-skimming bodice finished with a pleated skirt made for a refined approach to daytime dress. A tonally coordinated fascinator, velvet clutch, and heels enhanced the Duchess’s look, making for an a traditional—and seasonally-appropriate—knockout.
