L’Oréal, a historic partner of hairdressers for more than 110 years, is reinforcing its support for industry professionals during the unprecedented Covid-19 period.

L’Oréal worldwide is mobilised to help hairdressers reopen their salons, as soon as local authorities permit it. The objective is to open salons in the safest conditions possible.

In order to help the hairdressers be ready for the reopening, and in coordination and alignment with the Lebanese de-confinement committee, L’Oreal Liban provided Lebanese hairdressers with concrete hygiene guidelines for operating a hair salon post-confinement including hand cleansing, tool disinfecting, social distancing, salon routing, pre-booking, and organization of the salon to spread out appointments.

The clients’ safety being as important as the hairdressers’ safety, and in order to raise clients’ awareness about the importance of hygiene measures, L’Oréal Liban’s Professional Division developed a social media campaign with precise safety recommendations to be followed during the next visit to salons, enabling all clients to have a safe return to salons. The #trustyourpro campaign went viral with the help of social media influencers and reached over 2 million followers to date.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 period, L’Oréal Liban has introduced several measures to support hairdressers:

Supporting the safe reopening of salons: In addition to the post-confinement guidelines, L’Oréal is further supporting the professionals with full-fledged hygiene and safety kits, including protective masks, gloves and purifying hydro-alcoholic gels, to enable them to reopen their salons in the safest possible conditions.

E-Learning training: In order to help upskill the hairdressers while their businesses were temporarily closed, L’Oréal Liban has been offering tutorials, webinars and online teaching modules to its hairdressers. These modules covered the latest hairdressing trends, business growth and development, as well as learning on social media.

Payments Suspension: starting the beginning of the confinement in Lebanon, L’Oréal Liban has suspended payments for around 700 salons across the country until their businesses resume, at which time a new payment schedule will be established.
