This February Kibsons is showing the environment just how much they love and appreciate it by announcing their ‘Return Your Plastic & Win 10,000 AED’ campaign
Valentine’s Day is a day to share love, romance, and affection, whether it means spending time with a significant other, family member or group of friends. It’s a chance to celebrate what matters most in life: our connection with others. Kibsons are taking this a step further this month by not only valuing the connection with others but also with the environment itself with the launch of ‘Environment, be my Valentine’.
Known for their mindfulness when it comes to single-use plastics, Kibsons are continuously finding ways to reduce, reuse and recycle and they are proud to say that more than 90% of any plastic used at Kibsons now is recycled. This February, Kibsons are drawing on the importance of looking after our planet by launching the campaign ‘Environment, be my Valentine’. Along with returning your Kibsons boxes, customers will have the chance to return all of their household plastics to the Kibsons warehouse. After being verified on the Kibsons app, the Kibsons team will weigh your returned plastic, and the top 10 customers with the highest plastic collections will receive a prize of AED 1,000 each. All plastic returned will be sent to an organization that recycles into stylish outdoor furniture. The top 100 participants with the highest plastic count will also all receive a flowerpot created from the recycled plastic as an extra special treat!
Kibsons are always committed to working towards becoming a cleaner and more environmentally conscious company and have implemented eco-friendly and sustainable operations to reduce carbon footprint and support the anti-plastic movement within their operations strategy.
Naturally being a company that fundamentally relies on the ongoing function of a cold storage facility and running a large fleet of distribution vehicles, water, electricity, and fuel are principles in keeping with a successfully flowing business. However, it has always been key for Kibsons to strive towards minimal consumption, whilst still maintaining the quality and fantastic service that they are proud to be known for.
Maintaining Kibsons reputation of supplying the freshest produce in the region, Kibsons water is widely used in the cold storage facility, purposely built to maintain the freshness of your products whilst being sorted. Kibsons have made it their mission to make this process as eco-friendly as possible. Hard work and determination have paid off with Kibsons now on track to recycle more than 75% of the water usage at the Kibsons headquarters.
Kibsons are also working on a new solar panel project, set to span over their 130,000 square meter warehouse. The project will result in an electricity reduction of more than 25% annually, including a reduction of 50% in the winter months.
Kibsons refrigerated fleet has also been focusing on a new initiative to reduce the harmful emissions in the atmosphere. By using bio-fuel additives, Kibsons are set to bring 20% more efficiency on the total fuel consumption. Measured on km/liter consumed, Kibsons initiative is expected to reach a 20% reduction of harmful emissions in the atmosphere.
