In a bid to step up workplace wellness in the region, Cigna Insurance Middle East, a global health service company, presented the key findings of its 2019 360⁰ Well-Being Survey at a breakfast conference in Beirut, hosted in partnership with Meref – CCI France Liban and ESA Business School.
Over 70 members of Meref and ESA alumni attended the event that offered in-depth insights on ways to promote health and well-being in the workplace and make them integral elements of the business culture. In addition, the event also highlighted strategies and tools to develop and improve employee wellness programs.
The global annual survey indicated a likelihood that workplace wellness programs are not achieving their desired outcomes due to low participation rates as well as a gap between the programs in place and employee needs. While stress remains a universal epidemic today, many of the respondents of the survey claim that the current workplace wellness programs fail to address stress and mental well-being issues.
“We aim to raise awareness of workplace wellness to help people improve their health, well-being and peace of mind,” said Jerome Droesch, CEO of Cigna Insurance Middle East. “Our annual survey enables us to better understand the challenges people experience and to support them on their journey towards health and well-being. We focus on providing solutions across all dimensions of wellness, and the wealth of information we gain from the survey findings each year are invaluable in tailoring our products and services for the region.”
“Wellness programs are still a relatively new phenomenon in this market and across the wider region,” said Raed Labaki, General Manager of Cigna Lebanon. “Working with our clients, we are exploring various ways to customize these programs so that they meet the needs of their employees more effectively. In doing so, we can continue to deliver high-quality, affordable and personalized products and services.”
