areeba, a regional financial technology company has partnered with Altpay, a fast-growing digital commerce enablement company, to introduce Smart POS Terminals across Lebanon using Altpay Cloud-Based PCI-DSS certified Digital Commerce Gateway (DCG) and Android based terminals provided by Pax Technology. This partnership was announced during a press conference on April 10, 2019 during “Seamless Middle East” in Dubai and attended by major regional medias and industry experts.
This partnership will allow areeba to modernize its payment acceptance business in Lebanon. Rolling out and deploying such technologically advanced POS terminals, will enable areeba in providing various solutions to its merchant customers. In addition to having the traditional payment acceptance application, such terminals will have the capability of scanning and displaying QR codes, as well as hosting an array of other applications such as mobile Top-up, e-vouchers, loyalty, closed loop card issuance, and most importantly introduce and manage a private app store. Merchants will also benefit from having full access to a merchant portal that will enable them in tracking their sales as well as other data analytic dashboards that will be made available. Such a portal could be accessed through the web and through a mobile app.

This product will be available on the Lebanese market starting Q3 2019.
