Carlo scored a smart win in the Wathba Stallions Cup race organised under the umbrella of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival here in Tiaret in Algeria on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
Jockey Mohammed Djellouli steered the Fehd Metidji-owned Carlo to a win in the Wathba Stallions Cup, a race series that aims to boost Purebred Arabian racing at the grassroots level.
Carlo finished ahead of Anazarna with Chergar in third place.
The race carried a prize fund of Euros 5000 and was part of the meeting that attracted a large number of fans.
The UAE Ambassador to Algeria HE Yousuf Saif Al Ali attended tha race and gave away the trophies along with other top Algerian racing officials. “It is great to see the UAE staging such races here in Algeria. We thank His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood for all the support that has helped in the success of the Festival,” HE Yousuf Saif Al Ali said.
